Onto the capital and largest city of Cambodia…

Whoa!!! Pulling up at Phnom Penh (PP) I could see the tuk-tuk drivers ready to swarm us as we got off. I had done my research, so knew how much to negotiate for to get to the backpacker I wanted to try that seemed popular on the internet. I also noticed another lone female traveller, and before we got off I asked her if she had a place booked and if she wanted to share a tuk-tuk with me, which she was happy to do. Getting off the bus, I ignored the swarm of drivers, got our backpacks, walked away to get a bit of space, took a deep breath and started negotiations. I think it cost about 6 dollars…

TOP BANANA – Phnom Penh:

Great place to stay. I ended up staying here many times going back and forth in and out of PP. You have to go up a staircase to get to the reception, so don’t be shy, just walk on up. They are quite full a lot, so maybe have a back up hostel nearby..

TRAVEL HINT: Don’t be afraid to ask other travellers to share tuk-tuk’s after arriving in places off of a bus, or even to tourist sights from the backpackers/hostels you stay at..
