Shopping Day at the Siem Reap Markets!
We needed to seriously get shopping as Hiroki was leaving to go back to Japan in the evening, so hammocks were on the top of our list!! We ended up getting 2 hammocks for US$5.. Unbelievably cheap! Can’t wait to try them 🙂
I ended up falling in love with the Siem Reap Markets. The cash used in Siem Reap was mostly US Dollar. You can choose which form you get your cash in when you use the ATM. We made sure we had lots of $1 and $5 and I was very glad as most things I bought cost a max. of $5 for bags and sunglasses. It was embarrassing to barter prices down then hand over a large note, which some stall owners seemed to have trouble changing.. Through the rest of my travels across Cambodia and Vietnam I didn’t find any shopping cheaper either.. I want to go back!!
And then all too soon, it was time to go to the airport..

Already wearing my new dress, new sunglasses, new cap and 2 new bags that I bought from the markets today 🙂
And then I was all alone……
And what better way to make yourself feel better than with a foot massage..
Obviously, Cambodia is still a very undiscovered paradise as you can see by these prices!
Well, from now on, the journey continues alone…
